Home Care services can be defined as those services used by consumers to enhance, restore or maintain their health in the sanctity of one's home. While home care most often take place in individual residences, it may also be provided in assisted living facilities, nursing homes or even hospitals.

Home Care services is defined by three specific types of service.

• Non-Skilled Care – assistance that requires no medical intervention
• Skilled Care – assistance that requires medical or therapeutic intervention
• Care Management – assistance with care coordination, client advocacy and client/family education
